Thanks for posting. I dig it, a lot. Apparently he's got two albums in the works.. One is an acoustic album and the other is described as an "appropriate follow up to Modern Guilt." This track that you posted will be released as a stand-alone single. Good stuff! He rarely, if ever, disappoints.
I read about his stuff coming out. Looking forward to it. I haven't really paid attention to him since Sea Change. I think my expectations were too high for a long time with him. Perhaps I'll go back to see what I missed.
Sea Change definitely set a high bar. I think it's the next album I'm going to buy (vinyl). Our 9 year wedding anniversary is approaching. She's a big fan of that album... Thanks for the idea.
Anyone ever tell you that you kind of look like him?
Maybe it's shallow of me, but I liked Beck a lot better before I learned he was an avid Scientologist.
Sea Change is one of my favorite albums. When people ask me the question, "what five albums would you bring to the deserted island?" Sea Change is definitely in there. Beck wrote it after his girlfriend broke up with him. It is heartbreaking, beautiful and incredibly sincere, something that Beck is not often accused of being.
I can't count the number of times I've listened to it straight through. I thinks it's about as perfect an album as I own. I wouldn't really characterize myself as a Beck fan either. I like a lot of his other stuff, but I don't go crazy for it. MV on the other hand is not from this planet.
I love that he's so versatile, but I like it when he's a bit more focused like on Sea Change and MV, so for me those are the two most successful albums. I still follow the guy, but after Sea Change it was largely hit or miss for me, though mostly in the "miss" column as far as albums go.
