Getting ready to purchase the play-through game "Inside" on Xbox One after two people independently recommended it to me.
Hey, graduated from Towson. Good luck Tiger.
Should've used the FBI.“We got six terabytes of information, and they were was no real way we could review all of that data in the time period allowed before trial,” [Dratel] said.
And CPA exams :(
A friend did a volunteer medical trip to Peru this past year. Interesting tidbit I came across for those who've never heard - if you turn these pictures on their side, some of the features of a face can be seen. The tallest mountain is the nose. Granted, the following painting was used with a little creative license.
More like my life according the Sarbanes-Oxley act. Auditing should be... interesting.
Haha yeah it will be a short-lived break... once the transcript is finalized, I'll be neck deep in studying for the CPA. I just keep telling myself it'll be worth it.
I probably have to go with Summerteeth as my favorite album. So many good ones on there -- I kinda go through cycles of which songs on the album I'm loving. Definitely going to check out the Cline video though, thanks for the share.
Glad you like it! I'll be sure to post more standup.
It sounds like a close variation of an old game called "War" that I played as a kid with my grandparents.
Likewise, a significant portion of the population has exceedingly taken to liking negative attention through drama. Facebook and other forms of social media have, in my opinion, exacerbated the problem.
Tablets are the new king. Been really thinking about picking up a Surface when it's available.
I'm not sure where I read it, but I remember seeing an article about how a significant portion of their late teen population identifies as being not attracted to either gender.
Maybe some Den of Thieves or even Gramatik? But if we start talking about tags, I have a feeling some Metallica might get mixed in.
What a great, concise, poignant way of putting it. Bravo. If I had a badge, I'd give it to you. That's because the difference between addiction and freedom is repeated action.
That's the most important part. The companies providing the channels wouldn't want this to happen either, not just the cable companies. And, by some estimates, only about 25 percent of cable customers actually watch ESPN on a regular basis. So if you unbundled ESPN, the per-subscriber cost might shoot up to $20 or more, to account for the 75 percent drop in its customer base.
Wasn't really trying to say it was. Tagged it under #science. Just thought it was an interesting article.
Wow. For lack of a better a better word, that sounds "heavy." As soon as I finish A Storm of Swords, I'm on it!
That part struck me the most. Thinking of consciousness from another perspective is an entirely new/interesting concept for me. Considering the length of time bacteria has been around, bacteria might interpret humans as we interpret other Earth cycles, like the Ice Age.How easy would it be for an intelligent bacteria to notice people as integral entities? We might appear more as slow storms moving into the bacterial environment. If we are relying solely on the human perspective to validate machine consciousness, we're really only putting human-ness on an even higher pedestal than it might have been at the start of our thought experiment.
Agree. When it first started out, I believe it did more good then harm. If the current benefits of social media (speed of information, interconnected networks, etc.) could be limited to things like news reporting or emergency services notification, it'd be great. IMHO, for the vast majority of current users, it serves as a platform to expose the rest of the world to their problems and enables their need for attention. I've heard far to many stories of families and friends ruining relationships because of social media, not to mention jobs and celebrities. However that's not to say there aren't any benefits now - for example, I love being able to see pictures from friends and family. I just don't agree with the stream-of-consciousness that it has become.
So you're saying that an invite is necessary in order to use the site?

Yup! Guitar. A little non-traditional, but oh well.
How have you dealt with increases in traffic, mk? Or is that a question better suited towards thenewgreen? Funny enough, I ran into a 502 Bad Gateway earlier today trying to surf Hubski. Not sure if it's tied to the recent influx of users. If a startup gets 100x more traffic, then the organization is faced with an immediate, overwhelming amount of work required to keep their service operating. So the startup spends time creating a more sophisticated hosting setup, or implements database sharding, or hires someone with an expertise in scaling.
I appreciate the kind words! First video is DACFCE, and the second is standard. I do have them up on youtube but they didn't do so hot, haha.
The Golden Gate bridge...oof. Thank god that didn't materialize.
I did, actually. Got a great internship this past summer with a "Big 4" accounting firm, and they extended me an offer for next fall. Pretty excited!
That's exactly how long it took for me. 150 credits sucked. Now for the CPA exam.
