I'd read pretty much anything, just not books with a picture of Fabio and a woman with heaving bosoms on the front. Thanks for the suggestions. And gen.lib.rus.ec looks great!
$30 is too much for me right now :( I'll check out Project Gutenberg though, I hadn't thought of that, thanks.
'thorough' is another example they usual give.
I still don't understand. There is nothing that would link a new username to the one you have now, if you didn't want it to. Does having a name on reddit give your posts more weight in discussions? Are you too proud of your post history to "give up on it" (not meant to sound snarky)?
>People I was friends with, in relationships with, exes would read my journal and despite I never insulted or talked bad about them, they'd somehow take umbrage. It happened multiple times? There's got to be more to this.
>I'm a weird corner case: my pseudonym became an identity worth defending because I put a lot of me in it Why do you think that this is unique to you?
I'm not saying social media can spark revolutions, but the have proved to be useful tools. Don't know if the rest of that was sarcastic or not :/
[meta] I see this happen often on Hubski, the multi-posts, what's up with that?
>If you're not capable of contributing to your society then what value do you truly have? Consuming. Same with the pensioners. They are not worthless to a capitalist society, they consume the goods which people and companies produce allowing them to have a job in the first place. And if I could play devil's advocate for a moment: Facebook can be used by grassroots organizations to affect change in their communities, it can contribute something to society. Professional athletes on the other hand... >I just ensure that children will grow up to be empathetic. I thought I heard a few years ago about some economic models that try to take these things into account, I can't remember where at the moment though. Does anyone know?
>vote to support themselves in the long-run at the cost of their short-run I wonder what the average Oxi voter imagined would happen if Greece left the euro, I can't imagine they would have thought that things would increase in the short-term.
Good point about the timing of Varoufakis' resignation. >they couldn't accept the conditions since they got voted into office on a promise of putting an end to the exploitation of the Greek people I really wonder what they were thinking back in Dec/Jan. They campaigned on ending austerity, the people voted "No", months later supporting their campaign promises, and when push came to shove they folded immediately. What were they hoping would happen or what were they hoping to accomplish? I can't see how this won't end the government. The next election in Greece is going to be...interesting.
We're moving to a city in Spain next month, so we'll see how that turns out.
Amsterdam is such a beautiful city, once you get out of the center. Those brick houses that just go on and on...
As another meta-question: is there a good extension for viewing pictures, rather than opening a new window for each?
How about something for a character? Inappropriate prankster
Was this graph surprising to anyone else?
Why the specific product names?
