I would really like to see something like the article's "government as employer of last resort, coupled with a small negative income tax."

"By all accounts, Mr. Friedman was a generous and compassionate man, someone more keenly aware of good luck’s contribution to individual prosperity than many of his disciples."

Indeed. No one should needlessly suffer merely for living in a universe governed by chance.

Not necessarily better or worse, although it may be a little more filtered (and so a little better in that respect). I mainly use it for contrarian reasons. But it does have a lot of very useful features, and if you don't like the results it includes a link to google, bing and yahoo.

I'm a fan, but not a fan boi.

Less, I've not done iphone development, but I am a programmer. If I was going to start, I'd probably start here:

Look through a few of the results, and pick one that you connect with, then start. This one looks promising, YMMV:

Option: Mobile programming is somewhat specialized. If you don't get it right away, rather than giving up you could just try to learn the language that iphone programming is done in (objective-c, I think), and then come back to it as soon as you can (don't wait to be an expert). The second link above suggests that, under somewhat different circumstances, but it's good advice.

One mark of a civilized society is how it treats its "lesser" inhabitants. On this, we fail.
