Damn, hope that engineering going as planned, super hard thing to get a master's degree in.I'm in the same situation as you, except that I'm a freshmen right now, and look forward towards getting a math BA
finishing up Infinite Jest for the second time, totally worth it. Since I'm starting up as a freshmen in college my literary endeavor will unfortunately be put on hold. Looking into finishing my Dostoevsky collection though.
read his post on Facebook. honestly didn't think that he enjoyed making that album due to label restrictions but I guess i'm wrong. In terms of hip hop albums it's definitely not bad, but when put into context in terms of Lupe' other shit, including his 6 mixtapes, it definitely sits at the bottom imo
yea, it's the ultimate music hub for hip hop heads. and that's totally spot on. Rodeo was complete garbage. Oh well, I think that's what we sacrifice when we leave the decisions up to the hype machine
Cool, so we agree. Lol What about this Trying to define f(yourself) is like trying to inexplicablefeelingbutimplicit(bite your own teeth)
This would be true if only we were talking about knowing words themselves. The issue here is the definition and the inexplicable, not the word nor prevalency. We can point out those lines on your face because they are there, but this logic breaks down when talking about abstractions. Knowing what the two lines on your face are called and meeting head on with sudden short-term aphasia when trying to describe what "Art" or "God" is are two different scenarios and can't be compared. Here's a good example: what do you call the two lines on your face that come down from your nose to the extremes of your lips?
Language is inherently flawed; Language will never be able to reciprocate exactly what is in one's minds eye. A great example which sheds light on the fallibility of language are Zen Koans. "Whats the sound of hand clapping?" An even more explicit example Jiufeng said, "That's right."2 The monastic said, "Sakyamuni emerged in this world, pointed to heaven and earth, and said, 'Above earth and under heaven, I alone am venerable.' How can you call him one who transmits words?"3 Jiufeng said, "I call him one who transmits words because he pointed to heaven and earth." Zen master Jiufeng Daoqian Dajue was once asked by a monastic, "I heard that you said that one who transmits words is outstanding among the sages. Is it true?"1
Been getting back into electronic music since Aphex Twin's (under AFX) new tape was released. Been especially getting into Four Tet
Sorry about the ambiguity, I think i was just waking up when i wrote that comment :p By "bodyweight" i mean advanced gymnastic movements such as L-Sits, front levers, back levers, handstands, planches, ect. A really good book on this is "Overcoming Gravity". Essentially a manual on how to go about training bodyweight movements, mobility, and things related to gymnastic-esque training
T&Y was a godsend and I was on KTT the night this dropped. Lupe might be returning to his roots in terms of style, or maybe after he figures out who Ahab is and why doctor Sergio Canavero is in the game :p
Awesome and inspiring too :p I used to be heavy into powerlifiing ( never entered into an actual competition but my parameters for my workouts were always of the strength orientation) and I 've been on a hiatus ever since the summer, and this might be the stepping stone I needed to get back into the game. Definitely gonna master the bodyweight movement a first though. Also, I recommend buying a good foam roller, having a stretching routine, and also heading over to http://www.mobilitywod.com There are a lot of things happening within your own body physiologically that you might not even be aware of, and the WODs are a lifesaver for a someone who powerlifts or lifts with heavy parameters
Anecdote is awesome and I completely agree with your philosophization of the zany architecture that our mind governs.
This is an awesome read, especially for self claimed semi-conspiratorialists such as myself. lol
I never really got into my own culture, and because of that, lack the linguistics of that culture. Right now I speak english, spanish, and urdu(native to pakistan) but im currently learning two more languages which are more geo-specific. Besides that I'm really getting into Information systems, backtrack/kali, and coding in general, so I have a lot to digest everyday lol Also gotta freshen up on ny math for these placement tests in college which is a total drag
Awesome rant. On a side note, u read the nib?
Already knew about trickle down, but the 2nd link was pretty cool
