Guck, everyone has an e-cig now. It's not just teens. They're everywhere. Of course the numbers of underagers are going to rise when the entire population of ecig users rises. A year ago I didn't know what an ecig was. Now I rarely smoke a real cigarette. Look at the numbers of brick e-cig shops from a year ago to today. I would guess that it's gone up 10 fold. The only downside with this that I see is that it's much easier to hide an ecig than a real cig. I started smoking at 16 and my parents knew immediately. E-cigs can be smoked in the bedroom without parent's noticing.
I mean...that is a large increase in only a year. Of course two data points don't necessarily make a trend, but I don't think this is insane overblown outrage. The CDC is trying to position themselves ahead of this, by perhaps being a bit alarmists.
Fair. I'd like to see the same numbers for cigarettes. Those figures are capturing a lot of teen experimentation, not necessarily addiction.
With less than 3 percent of kids copping to vaping in the last 30 days, it's safe to assume that the daily use figure is vanishingly small.
