Hello hubski - I have appreciated all the support I have gotten from this social platform since I joined the community 432 days ago (wow, time really does fly). As some of you are aware, I will be doing my Ph.D. research at the Global Brain Institute in Belgium. I want to apply evolutionary and cybernetic theory to understand how our individual and collective lives will change in the 21st century. In an attempt to adopt a funding model that I believe will play a dominant role in scientific research over the next 50 years, I am trying to get some funding for this via crowd sourcing my project.
I believe crowd sourcing is important because it makes researchers accountable to the public directly, and it gets the public directly involved in the future of knowledge creation. As a science popularizer this is important to me. I want to foster a deep connection with a community that knows what I am doing, how I am doing it, and I want to communicate why it is important. I believe that Global Brain research is important because it will help all of us make more intelligent decisions today, for a world that will look very different tomorrow.
In an effort to help communicate the importance of Global Brain research, I have been working on a five-part blog series titled "Pathway to the Global Brain". This blog series will be released via The Advanced Apes website, as well as Humanity+, Lifeboat, and Svbtle. You can follow this blog series as it is released over the next week to learn more about my Ph.D. research. More importantly, you will find out what I think your life is going to be like in the 2030s, 2040s, 2050s, and beyond. I believe these are knowable things. How will our political, religious, scientific, medical, economic, institutions change over the next 50 years? I think we can know this. I think our theory is strong enough. But you can be the judge for yourself when I release the blog series!
Either way, I have linked you all to my Microryza campaign. Any help you can give is appreciated. Any thoughts, questions, comments, are welcomed. I appreciate Hubski's support and hope that you get as much from me as I get from you.
Also, if you share this Microryza campaign via your social media networks please use the hashtag #GlobalBrain.
Thank you for your time :)
Not sure how I missed this post, but I went searching for it after reading the Huffpo piece. I recall you talking about this at the Detroit meetup, but you didn't mention that this was how you were funding your travels to Brussels. You should extend the amount of days left, if you can on the campaign. I'll pitch in what I can. Good luck pal!
