And really, while paper is more intimate and personal, its utility in this context seems needlessly wasteful. In this day and age, the only things we should be printing are those which we should want to keep for a relatively long time. Why waste paper on fleeting bits of information which we'll view briefly and quickly discard? That's what electronic displays are for. The permanence and inflexibility of ink on paper is completely inappropriate in this context. EDIT: From the comments on that article I was led to this video of a similar, more practical concept. http://youtu.be/ngDnxPuVNSA I like this one more for some reason, maybe because it only prints important emails and it talks. Plus it has a more human way of interacting with it by use of accelerometer.
I definitely agree there. News is having an identity crisis. I'm pretty certain that the newspaper is dead, however. Yesterday's news on a dead tree has lost its shine. As for this thing, I've never felt a motivation that this thing would fulfill.
