I took a break from the internet for a while and I haven't logged in about four months or so. More recently, I've been busy on reddit creating a new network of subreddits devoted to science fiction & fantasy artwork so I have been severely neglecting hubski lately, but I want that to change. I feel like I'm out of the loop, though. What's changed in the last four months? Did I miss anything interesting? Are there any new features or rules I should be aware of?
How has everyone been?
mk & forwardslash have been coding their little hearts out. People can now tag posts with 2 tags and the community can add a tag as well. There is also a share-count feature that you can turn on in your settings page. If I hover over your name, for example, a little "9" pops up showing that I've shared 9 things that you've posted. It's nice for purging people or seeing what I like about the person. You can click on the number to reveal the posts. We now have a couple hubski extensions that you can find here: http://hubski.com/tools Hubski Discover is similar to kerrick's Mostly Harmless for reddit, if you've ever used that. A bit ago, there was a post "What's the difference between reddit and hubski" that started a nice conversation. I would be interested in hearing what you had to say on the subject. I'm sure I missed a ton. But glad to have you back.
Lol humanodon already said the newsletter. Plus, I don't want to toot my own horn too much... But yes. The Most Amazing Newsletter Ever.
Hey, that's a pretty big multi! I hope it takes off. We've started doing something called #storyclub at the moment. Maybe you'd like to jump in. It seems like it's losing some steam (or maybe the part that I finished writing just doesn't appeal to people) so maybe some new blood can help get it pumping again. In #hubskibookclub we're reading 2666 by Roberto BolaƱo. It's not too late to join, if you'd like. Also, insomniasexx started a Hubski newsletter which might come in handy to see what other stuff has been going on.
Hey syncretic, good to see you. Hope you and your family are well. Some of my favorite things that have happened of late have revolved around an influx of really fantastic writers, poets etc. on the site. Check out the #shortstory tag.
