Loretta's complete work can be found here: http://www.lorettalux.de/ although the Yossi Milo gallery has a nice sampling.
Really strong work. I specially like the tension between the surface brightness and the dark undercurrent. (Reminded me of Kathie Olivas' paintings: http://www.miserychildren.com/miserychildrenimages/Opera/fel... )

Thank you. Those are very nice. Yet, in comparing the works, I prefer how Loretta's images preserve a current of innocence. I find much contemporary work to be jaded to an extent that diminishes the effect. Today, in the context of abundant cynicism, purity has a unique pitch for me. I sense that Loretta is taking advantage of this, and at the same time, is forcing us to question the temporal context itself. Are these contemporary scenes?
