Personally, I think whether or not someone is going to have a bad trip has a lot to do with that person's disposition in the first place. I am sure that some willpower, peace of mind, and good company can help, but some people just weren't built to trip.

As an aside, I think that tripping can be as interesting or uninteresting as just about anything else. It's what you make of it. This is pretty weak, IMHO:

If you’ve decided that you want to trip this shows that you have already come further than 99% of the human race ever will and possess the potential to go so much further, this gives us little excuse to not be happy so keep being awesome and remember to retain your motivation to trip!

That sounds like a desperate justification of one's worldview. You are no better if you trip. You are no less. No one is so easily or conveniently defined. IMO it's a shame that tripping is mostly approached in a counter-culture way. For example, Native Americans would trip in a socially acceptable, spiritual way.

Tripping and playing golf, or maybe basketball would be odd. But, it's something that isn't for everyone, and I think that some people would be better off never doing it.

That's exactly what he is doing although I can't blame him. Very few people are into the psychedelic/tripping culture so by joining you automatically feel detached from other people, almost as though they where in a special group.

Same is true for me, I enjoy psychedelic's but none of my friends do : (

I can understand that. But I don't think it's doing him any good. Straight edge people hating on users, or users hating on non-users. It's all no good.

Just take care of yourself. It's not safe to trip without some support around.
