If you enjoyed this song, then you should listen to the rest of his 6th solo album, Yeezus.
This album is incredible. It has a sense of urgency and fire that I've never heard from Kanye. In a way I think it's going to be like 808's where it's somewhat divisive to his fanbase, but will only serve to further his legacy as one of the best producers and musicians in the game. This is one that might be viewed as ahead of the curve, even if artists like Death Grips have been doing this kind of industrial rap for years now.
Agreed. I am not a huge fan of Yeezus after a few listens through, but exactly like you said, it's a lot like 808s. Love it or hate it, it's definitely following that same sound as 808s, which I also thought was his weakest album in my opinion, and so far I'm putting Yeezus at a tie with it. I thought Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was phenomenal, and obviously Dropout/Late Reg/Graduation are all classics. I appreciate when an artist tries new things and takes new directions, even if I don't personally like it, I respect the shit out of him for breaking canon with stuff like Yeezus and 808, but it's just not my favorite things he's done. That being said I love "Hold my Liquor" and "Bound 2" from Yeezus, as well as this song you posted. I think my biggest problem with Yeezus/808s is the slightly unorthodox, dare I say "experimental" beats. In a way I think it's going to be like 808's where it's somewhat divisive to his fanbase
I'm a fan of Yeezus after a first listen, granted I've listened to New Slaves and Black Skinhead before. That said, I didn't like 808s and haven't listened to it in a long time, it looks like I should give it a revisit. Right now I'd say MBDTF, College Dropout, and Late Registration are his masterpieces, with Yeezus, 808s, and Graduation on a separate tier.
