As beautiful as a boy as well as as a girl.
It can be much longer than three years. My observation suggests that the longest time is spent figuring out if you want to transition and researching what it involves. Then there is time spent learning girl things, if you 're a boy, and boy things if you're a girl. Then there's more time spent living in the new gender privately, then publicly and that involves various stages. Someone who has had the experience him or herself can confirm or deny that. The hormones tend to work pretty quickly though. They usually recommend that you start living in the other gender before hormones and surgery.
Interesting.
I know the transgender thing can be difficult for people to understand - but it seems pretty critical to me to feel that you are your body and your body is you.
Best formerly female friend is now living pretty happily as a boy, calls himself liminal, no surgery.
Also a cousin doing brilliantly as an f to m, including surgery.
Male relative struggling with transition issues, but at 65 there are some fears that the hormones might exacerbate already existing heart disease. How is it that I personally know three trans people. What about the rest of you? Do you think you could always tell? I'm pretty sure NOT.

definitely not. To my knowledge, I don't know anyone struggling with gender issues, but if I did I would like to think that I would be a good person to talk to an provide support. My guess is that your a great person for those three to know.
