I get this sort of thing sometimes because I'm browner than most.
Side note regarding racism: I was in a meeting yesterday and someone was trying to describe the seasonality of the beach town I am in. They said, "this time of year we get the biker crowd, which is fine. Next week though the black bikers come and well, you can imagine." I just paused and said, "no, not really."
It amazes me when people just assume that you will be racist too. Anyways, I thought this video was pretty funny.
Your sense of humor reminds me of my brothers. He likes to say "I blame the ___" in random situations and fills in the blank with a different ethnic group. It can be funny because it almost always has zero relevance to race or ethnicity. For example, let's say we are going to a restaurant for lunch and when we arrive at the restaurant it is closed. I'll walk back to the car and say sorry, they're closed for lunch and he will say "I blame the Jews". Lately, it's been the Asians.
Well, considering that Asians comprise most of the world's population, your brother is bound to be right at some point. However, as an Asian person, I feel obligated to inform you that the Asian thing to do would be to blame the Chinese or the Japanese.
I think it works as far as humor goes because it points out the ridiculousness of blaming an entire ethnicity for anything, yet alone something so trivial as a restaurant being closed. But I'll see to it that he starts blaming the "Chinese" :-)
