It's official, I'm in a new phase in my life. My wife and daughter leave for the weekend to visit a friend and I can record anything. What do I choose? *The Itsy Bitsy Spider*.
I posted a rough version a week ago for fuffle's project. You can read more here . Has anyone else worked on one yet? I know gordonz88, MadreDios said you were interested. NewMonya -you should post your blues birthdays tune, I'd love to hear it. hiss you still in? fuffle said there wasn't a real time line but I'm excited to hear others.
I'm enjoying this and think I may actually record an entire collection of my daughters favorites.
ITSY BITSY:
I've added drums, real piano and some background vocals and bass. Only thing I still hear that is missing are some hand claps, and some goofy background vox that kids might like. Then it's done.
Below is what my studio looks like when I bring part of it upstairs. It's really nice to be in a bigger space.
I promise that finishing our podcast is up next. Very, very soon. I'm looking forward to seeing another "steve#1" video production.
I love it! Especially that acoustic bass, it really brings the whole kid-friendly sound together. fuffle, could you put maybe a Google Docs file with all the chords and tabs that you said you had? Again, I don't know with my limited student resources how professional of a piece I can make, so don't depend on me, but I'd love to try. Sorry for this late inquiry, I've been busy with schoolwork. Thanks!
Thanks! It's not acoustic bass though, but I appreciate it. You were likely swayed by the image of what looks like a 4 string bass on the couch. It's actually a 4 string guitar. It's a great little instrument.
Thanks a lot. I think I'm going to record more. If nothing else so that my child and future children can hear them. There's a TON of crappy kids songs out there. -trust me.
I'm considering only referring to you from now on as "The Amazing Spiderman." Not only did you crank gold out in record time after you said you wouldn't be able to commit due to existing obligations, but you then proceed to promote the project in a separate post and check in on other potential contributors, thereby doing my dirty work for me. Man, everything about this is awesome. I'm hard at work on a rhythm-centric rendition of "The Wheels on the Bus." Should be thrilling stuff, I'll post when finished (hopefully by this Wednesday). In the meantime, Godspeed, Spiderman. But honestly, thanks.

-Only my wife is allowed to call me that.I'm hard at work on a rhythm-centric rendition of "The Wheels on the Bus."
-Also a favorite of my daughter. I can use her as your test group if you'd like :)
IBS doesn't bring about the connotations I normally like to associate with my music. Sadly, this is not the first time it's happened though. I look forward to hearing WOTB, good luck with it.

yes, and what are your top six favourite songs for two-year-olds. (or is she three?) We might have some suggestions. Could be a new New Green album, tape, CD, iTune - whatever the two-year-olds are listening to these days.
