I just sat here and contemplated how those oceans would have affected an intelligent species on the planet. What would be a good piece of land to have etc. I'd want to set up base right at the base of that mountain at the far part of that long inlet.

haha I think your getting a little ahead of yourself... but it is cool to think about! It definitely helps conceptualize Martian landscape.

I would be wildly guessing if I said. I don't think we know enough about the ancient Martian environment to speculate.

Hmm, I'm going to go on and keep specualting. I think it is glaciers. But do notice that there is a similar inverse formation to the south.
