Either I'm a simpleton, or this author is making a mountain out of a molehill.

No wonder so many liberals eat up the seediness in House of Cards.

no... people of all political persuasions are eating up the seediness because it's entertaining. And those that don't find it entertaining... change the channel (or change what they're streaming in this case). Perhaps I'm just naive and stupid. That show is entertainment, pure and simple. I really don't think political statements are being made one way or another.

I was entertained, but I was also annoyed by how little redemption there is in the first season. Every character, even the ones you like in the beginning, becomes despicable. There's literally nobody that I'm rooting for. Sort of a strange situation to be in as a viewer. As despicable as Walt Candy in breaking bad, I'm always rooting for him. Does that make sense? Did you have the same reaction? Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely watching season two, it's a good show.

indeed - almost everyone has done something terrible. there are a few smalltime characters that one could root for... but it would be a stretch. Most of the main characters are morally compromised to the point of no return.
