Either I'm a simpleton, or this author is making a mountain out of a molehill. no... people of all political persuasions are eating up the seediness because it's entertaining. And those that don't find it entertaining... change the channel (or change what they're streaming in this case). Perhaps I'm just naive and stupid. That show is entertainment, pure and simple. I really don't think political statements are being made one way or another. No wonder so many liberals eat up the seediness in House of Cards.
I was entertained, but I was also annoyed by how little redemption there is in the first season. Every character, even the ones you like in the beginning, becomes despicable. There's literally nobody that I'm rooting for. Sort of a strange situation to be in as a viewer. As despicable as Walt Candy in breaking bad, I'm always rooting for him. Does that make sense? Did you have the same reaction? Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely watching season two, it's a good show.
