I love this.
I often tell people how Fight Club opened my eyes to a whole different world of thinking (as I was quite young when it came out), but while I talk about it less, it also opened my eyes to a whole different world of music and art. This is one of the earlier songs I taught myself on the guitar.
Have you seen the documentary, loudQuietloud? I thought it was much more insightful than Gouge, which was interesting in that it mostly explored bands from the UK who were influenced by Pixies and those bands' opinions of how they were influenced. However, Kim Deal was conspicuously absent from Gouge. Anyway, loudQuietloud is great because it does a good job of showing what these people are like and gives the viewer a perspective on what drives the band and what caused them to break up in the first place.
