- For the first time, a massive data set of 10,000 porn stars has been extracted from the world’s largest database of adult films and performers. I’ve spent the last six months analyzing it to discover the truth about what the average performer looks like, what they do on film, and how their role has evolved over the last forty years.
There was a lot more to this report than I was expecting, and I'm still trying to figure out what exactly to make of it.
This is a remarkably hard thing to google. FWIW, Stoya says yeah, it's pretty racist. It sounds like there's a perception that doing interracial scenes will alienate racist fans. It seems plausible that it might pay more because of that (perceived?) risk. But then she seems to think that the racists are the ones interracial porn is marketed towards.
A lot of people do, unfortunately, find interracial marriage and/or sex to be degrading, especially to the women. As racist as it may be, I agree with you that that is probably the case.
I could be wrong here, but I think some clichés may ring true. Could it be it just hurts more because of you know…..
That's what I was thinking when he mentioned the inconsistency between what people think the average porn star looks like and what she supposedly does - to a certain extent it might just be a misapplied stereotype, but I'd like to see it done based on number of films and (if it was possible) the popularity of said films. It could be that dark-haired girls are technically of greater number but that blonde ones get greater exposure and are more popular.
