Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the release of its Steam for Linux client. In celebration of the release, over 50 Linux titles are now 50-75% off until Thursday, February 21st at 10 AM PST.

Most the good titles are things I have or could have on my phone. They are really going to need to get more games in the store. If the next Halflife was released a week early on Linux then installs would explode.

That would be pretty awesome (for when HL3 comes out just before the heat death of the universe). I don't even play games on the computer anymore, but I still think this is a huge step forward for linux gaming.
