I don't own a gun, and I don't want to.
I have an uncle that used to make fertilizer bombs, and blow up appliances and old cars. He said that they would dig a hole, put a 10 gallon bomb in the bottom, and a water-heater on top. He joked that there is nothing like seeing a water-heater go 1/4 mile into the air. After the Oklahoma City bombing, the FBI visited his pal that would buy the fertilizer. They had to stop after that. In his words: "Recreational bombing isn't what it used to be."
Americana.
I'm not a gun-owner either, but when I was a kid I always enjoyed shooting guns. We would go out to my grandpa's in the winter time and take a bunch of 5 gallon buckets, fill them with water and let them freeze over night. The next day we would empty the big blocks of ice and then shoot at them from a distance. It was a lot of fun to watch them explode. We would use a .22 rifle. As for making fertilizer bombs, I have never experienced anything like that. The closest I have come is attaching a cherry bomb to a GI Joe and watching it demolish Cobra Commander. -those were the good 'ol days.
