Comparing suicides to combat deaths is beyond stupid. What should be compared is the rate of suicide among the military and the general population. The suicide rate among active duty military personnel is 24 per 100,000. The suicide rate among the general population of the United States is 12 per 100,000. That is a problem.

Yeah, just one of the problems with comparing that statistic to combat deaths is that increased combat deaths fixes that anomaly and none of us want that.
