You know, I wasn't a big fan of the latest Titus Andronicus album, but I've like everything else by them.

It certainly wasn't as interesting to me as their first two, yeah. Completely different direction, I would argue more folk and less punk.

Exactly, not that that's a bad thing. Take a look at The Men's last album, Open Your Heart, they keep the punk aspects of their 1st album but throw in songs like the one I linked to. They pulled it off very well, to the point of being my 2nd favorite album of last year. Titus Andronicus though, the songs just weren't as interesting when they tried to shift sounds.

Yeah, I felt Titus mixed elements of happy folk chorus in with their punk numbers, especially on The Monitor. That was why they got big.

This track you linked is very folky. Will check out the rest of the album for contrast.

A couple of tracks I really loved, some that seemed to drag on. Only about halfway through my first playthrough, though.
