If you haven't seen it you should. It's the master work of an early master of film. I think that this film probably set American race relations back decades. Try watching it without dismissing the whole thing as piece of racist propaganda, or imagine your self as a twelve year old brought up in a racist family, and imagine the films effect on you. It is a powerful and dangerous film. So often overt racism is self evidently small minded, ignorant and unappealing, it's interesting to see it pushed by one of the great early American film makers.
It is a very good movie, and a contemptible weapon of the worst kind of evil at the same time. I hope a few of you brave the three hour run time, I think it's worth watching.
