It seems like this would go nicely with the addition of the "chatter" page and would be another subtle promotion of comments... users like seeing those imaginary internet numbers climb.
We have a plan to separate some of the user pop up info into a proper user page. That's definitely something that I'd be willing to include. That pop-up is getting too crowded, and a bit ugly. There's other interesting things that we have planned to add which will satisfy your stats hunger.
