I think we could possibly even extend this toward other "syndromes." Instead of ADHD, which I was diagnosed with in 1st grade yet have proudly never taken medicine for, we should figure out why these people lose attention quickly. In my case I was bored in my classroom because, not to be boastful, I was bored with the materiel I already knew.
Same thing happened with my brother. A lot of doctors told my dad that he had ADHD, and he needed to be put on medication, which my dad politely refused. He graduated top of his class in high school, and he's going to a good university and doing great. Some people have ADHD, and some people just aren't interested in certain things. It's not that hard to tell the difference if you spend time with them.
