There's a lot of power in a "name"

"Occupy Wall Street, on the other hand, has chosen a fixed target. And you have put no end date on your presence here. This is wise. Only when you stay put can you grow roots."

-It's an "occupation", not a "protest".

Too bad winter is coming. Where will they go when it's 5 out?

The cold is a serious issue, but the problems we face aren't going away any time soon, in fact, they'll only get worse.

I'm involved in Occupy Anchorage and we're trying to get an occupation going. We in Alaska will have to deal with colder temperatures quicker and so we're trying to figure out how to stay warm. We are working on a bicycle powered generator and we're probably going to need portable heaters. Bivy sacks and warm sleeping bags are an option.

Bloomberg is betting that when the weather gets cold, peoples convictions will cool too. My suggestion for the die hard occupiers would be to make this a migratory occupation. There are 12 federal reserve bank districts http://www.federalreserve.gov/otherfrb.htm several are in moderate or warm climates. Or better yet, Bank of America (the largest us bank) is headquartered in Charlotte -go there. then come the spring head back to nyc.

btw, good luck in Anchorage. -Stay safe and hopefully warm.

Good idea, migration. A flock of protesters flying south for the winter. 12 federal reserve banks in 12 months?

I like it. 12 banks in 12 months. I nominate Sounds_sounds as their leader.

You would.
