Not to knock on you, but just as a more general point; I hope we start getting users from somewhere else than reddit. Sure, they might be a good userbase to find people from, but I'm sure there are insightful people all over the internet. Hubski being a reddit refugee camp is not exactly the ideal.
I totally agree, and realize it's silly considering to say since I'm new here. I know I just got here, and I was a Redditor, but I came here specifically to find a nice aggregation site... but without the over-populated feel to it that comes with any forum community that gets as big as Reddit. I notice there are obviously quite a few of them here, but this system seems to be a little better about being able to avoid people or ignore them completely if need be, which is nice. It's also not as dependent on up/downvotes, which is also nice, as I hope it will discourage people pandering for internet points. You make a good point though. Reddit is just kind of the Facebook of aggregation sites right now. It's like Google+ users hoping they get some people that didn't come from Facebook. Sure it will happen, but my guess is it will be few and far between.
