Xanthochroid - Blessed He With Boils: epic, Opethian black metal from California. This is their debut album, which continues the concepts explored in their previously released EP. The Odious - Joint Ventures: I knew this album was coming for a while, but I only got around to listening to it yesterday. BTBAM meet The Faceless, some would say. Kind of disappointed by the production on this one, but it's awesome nonetheless. Reso - Tangram: atmospheric dubstep. I know the 'dubstep' label might put some people off, but it's their loss, really. Unfortunately I couldn't find a full album stream, so linked here is the album opener. Tatran: Israeli jazz group, pretty chill. This is a recorded song, they have a ton of live videos on their YouTube channel.
I dutifully gave these a listen, even though I can say with certainty that black metal isn't my thing. What I have learned is that atmospheric dubstep isn't really dubstep? Sort of. Anyway, I enjoyed the third link quite a lot. Thanks for sharing!
