I know, there are a ton of different websites, each with differing levels of merit. But supposing you aren't doing something immediately deducible as productive - is that a 'waste of time' or can there be value in spending lots of time on the internet? I'm still not sure whether there are better places for my time to be funnelled into.
Is time spent at the library a waste? It can be, it entirely depends on the person and the activities they choose to pursue.
I suppose it depends what you mean by the question. Certainly there's nothing meritorious about wasting your life. But on the other hand, if you've developed a sense for your own productive limitations, then it's probably apparent that there are diminishing returns for more work after a certain point. Stress kills, after all. So wasting time to wind down from high levels of activity is perfectly acceptable, and you should in no way feel bad about wasting time that way, and that sort of time-wasting needs no further justification.
That completely depends on where you spend your time. I 100% feel that some people just waste time on the internet. As long as something provokes some sort of thought process in you, I feel that you are being productive. Even if this entails a complicated game or something like that, or something that makes you happy I don't think it is time wasted. However people who just aimlessly browse for lack of something better to do are most likely wasting time.
