What I don't completely understand yet is just, WHY? I mean, there are a lot of bands that have extremely die hard followings, but none of them morph into this. As most participants seem to be of modest financial backgrounds, does this juggalo brotherhood serve as some kind of social safety net? Am I looking too far into this? Sorry for the ramble, this video just left me with a confusing mix of emotions.
I'm with you. Especially after seeing the little kid. He didn't seem that he was too into it. My take on it is that it is about being able to belong to a group that gives you respect without judgement. It's my guess that a lot of these people struggle in some way or another the other 51 weeks of the year. Here they can forget their troubles, numb their brains, and get showered in acceptance. If they weren't abusing themselves so much, it might be a wonderful thing. Really interesting video.
