Wow, that is ugly. I did a little light googling last night, and I found a bunch of free wiki engines (meaning you have to host it yourself, I think), but wikia was the only free wiki hosting service I could find. I never knew it had all of those annoying ads, since I only disable adblock for sites like reddit and hubski. This is what it looks like for me:
