I chatted with Peter Buck about the merits of Jack Logan for a bit. I went to see Robyn Hitchcock & the Venus 3, not realizing that the Venus 3 included Buck and the Drummer from Ministry (who delivered the most tasteful and delicate brush drumming I've ever heard). It was a great show with world class musicians. Only about 200 people in the place. Good times.

that sounds great. Those kind of surprise shows are rare and are to be treasured. I was once mowing my lawn when I received a phone call from a friend that Nels Cline (probably most famous as Wilco's current lead guitar player) was performing in an hour at the Ark in Ann Arbor. The ark only seats about 2-300 people. There were only about 50 people there. It had not been well publicized and it was a Wednesday. I got to check out Nels rig afterwords and asked him about some of his pedals etc. I really enjoyed the show. He might as well been playing for 50,000 people. -Amazing guitarist.
