As an avid professional Scrabble fan, I'm a sucker for any article that mentions 'SOWPODS', but this one especially resonated because it's long been obvious that X is overvalued, V is quite undervalued, some of the vowels are often detriments, etc.

One potential issue I can see is that he based the entire thing off of frequency of length calculations with lengths he chose himself:

    For the weighting of frequency by length, I most heavily favor two-letter words, three- and seven-letter words, and eight-letter words

Now, this strikes me as just about right, but if it isn't (he admits to only being an amateur) then his whole list is off. But as he also says, the intuition seems to check out.
