Reading of rumblings between Louisiana and Texas leaning towards snapping up the leases predicted to come this summer - specifically Galveston, TX & Lake Charles, LA area.
My understanding is Louisiana’s the only Gulf state to seriously motion towards the transition. Texas, on the other hand, has been benefiting from a massive wind industry and may or may not have serious infrastructure investments made from international renewable development firms in-state.
Galveston is poised as a key port city for shipping off-shore wind materials to the NE, and benefits from high winds itself.
Obstacles to contend with include the existing off-shore oil infrastructure as well as a serious concern from the fishing industry/community.
Plenty of anecdotal information in my noggin if this post strikes anyones fancy.
