I didn't think she would last a year after Philip's death. So glad to be out of the UK to avoid the media avalanche of dross and shit that this sets off. It's weird that there's now a king after having lived my whole life with Elizabeth as the head of state. It's the not so subtle changes that will be strangest I guess - football fans singing God save the king at the upcoming world cup, no more Queen's speech at Xmas, when new stamps and money come out, and postboxes change from EII to CIII, etc, etc. Weirder still that it's a 73 year old Charles though. I wonder how all those Diana worshipping royalists will take to him?
wat I was talking to a friend who emigrated to Brighton like, ten minutes before Brexit. She was really trying to make me care about the queen. I figure you either got royalty or you got Kardashians, and The State doesn't formally protect the institution of the Kardashians.postboxes change from EII to CIII, etc, etc.
yeah, Elizabeth II Regina, because you should pay obeisance when you post a letter. They all have them I think ...except the George VI R ones England is pretty divided about the royals, but I think most of them who aren't hardcore radicals also begrudgingly accept or even admire her. I'm surprised at the number of people claiming to be anti royal or monarchy posting how emotional they are. I was once snubbed by Princess Margaret as a kid when she visited our school, so I've despised the royals ever since. I only later learned why I perhaps should do, but the main motivation was being a petty schoolboy. Same reason I hate Jack Charlton. I suppose state is supplanted by a massive twitter army to protect the Kardashians.
