Wonder if they can bring back the Lada badge to sell some of these cars under.
Cue the histrionics. First it was seat belts. Then it was headlights. Then bumper/crash standards. Then it was CARB emission standards. Then it was weed. Or whatever. California is a leader. Complainers are followers. I can already hear the money-machines cranking up to invest heavily in American manufacturing to meet this need... I actually hear a whiner online the other day complaining about how "the ozone layer" was such a big deal back in the 1980's, so "why have they just forgotten about that?" Well, Bill. That's because mitigation efforts worked, and the hole in the ozone layer has been reduced as a direct result of these efforts. Thank god for California. Otherwise this country would still be shitting in outhouses and pulling wooden oxcarts. Giant economy + altruistic liberal ideals = California.
Anything with the potential to decrease battery dependence while staying "renewable" is critical.
