I did pen a bit on the PC I got to do my WFH job and dig for ETH.
The GPU let me dig for ETH so I set it up and let it run til now. A day or two ago I did see one fan on the PC is bad so it is an apt day to end.
How did it go?
On the net one can oft see "ROI" to ask if the ETH one did dig can pay for the PC.
I did pay:
$1100 for the PC 370 for the LCD
88 for tax
-----
$1558 all in
My PC did use 175 W or so for a 480-day era.
175 W × 0.001 kW/W × 480 day × 24 hr/day ≈ 2K kWh
To use one kWh I pay 12¢ or so, so I did pay $240 to get the PC to run 24/7. (And I had to pay a bit for A/C, but the hot PC did let me not use a bit of gas in icy Jan/Feb.)
So I had to pay $1800 to dig for ETH, and in the end I did get 0.4 ETH.
If I get rid of the 0.4 ETH now I can get $1K or so. I did not "ROI," not yet. The ATH in Nov. was 2× vs. now so I am apt to sit and see if it may go up a bit. ETH 2.0 is set to hit the net by Q4. The big dig for ETH is set to end and a new era is on the way.
