The year I had to move to Phoenix was the same year we had watering restrictions in Denver (and had had for two years). Pulled into the Phoenix metro area to see sprinklers just swinging away in every yard. Screw Phoenix. The desert was never really meant to be farmed. Are engineers badasses who managed to bring water to the most remote reaches of the American west? Hell yes they are. Should we be golfing where grass can’t naturally grow or raising beef (a VERY water intensive process) in the desert? My vote is a hell no.
