The idea that empathy and caution can be enculturated in people lacking both with photography is flawed at its base assumption. I have a double handful of folks I could cite as examples who have lost family members to Covid and still give money to anti-mask, anti-vaxx movements. You can't make them care. Direct quote That is simply untrue."The more people see, the more they understand, and the better decisions people make," says Hawes.
LOL and they browse npr.org erry morning, right? riiiiight? You can be in the right and still need propaganda. There's a bunch of people out there sacrificing, and there's a bunch of people out there demanding their freedom not to sacrifice. Those obsessed with freedom are perpectually free from the Sauron's Gaze of liberal media - it's not like there's been no coverage of COVID wards before. However, those who are sacrificing just rolled through their third COVID christmas. Who had to tell Grandma they ain't coming. Who are suffering through Year 2 of bullshit online classrooms, who are seeing prices at Home Depot up 100%, 200%, and they need to be reminded what they're sacrificing for. You think mk shared this because he thought it might convince someone on here to get vaxxed? You'd probably be happier if you'd confront whoever you're really mad at because the world at large will never be able to give you the response you want.I have a double handful of folks I could cite as examples who have lost family members to Covid and still give money to anti-mask, anti-vaxx movements.
Agreed, in so much as they are in no frame of mind to understand, so too many learn absolutely nothing. Or, as Covid takes them, there are fewer ignorant people around to make ignorant decisions. A friend of mine, a physical therapist at a Michigan Health system, told me last month of how a kind and level-headed pulmonologist he works with lost his shit temporarily in a shouting match with a 46 year-old Covid patient. This patient was yelling at hospital staff about the vaccine being a farce. " The vaccine is bullshit. I'm vaccinated, look at me now!!" The pulmonologist reminded the man he'd waited to get vaccinated only AFTER having come down with Covid. "It doesn't work that way sir!". This patient then swore, with much of his last breath that his family would sue the hell out of this pulmonologist. The man was requesting Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin, which the pulmonologist and staff refused him. "They are not approved treatments, we are not allowed to give them to you." My friend then administered a physical therapy regimen. The man's pulse-oxygen level was 65% and dropped below 50% shortly after and continued to drop. This 46 year old angry patient died later that afternoon.
