I'm pissed they're killing Cellini 'cuz they're the only ones that are vaguely interesting. It's like

- Rolex: for things that look exactly like a fucking Rolex. Where collectors will rend their fucking shirts and/or jizz their pants if you change the shade of red on the GMT Master.

- Tudor: for things that look like an off-brand Rolex. Where collectors will mock you and/or praise you for buying a cheap GMT Master.

- Cellini: for watches that look like watches.

WTF is that thing?

An old '70s Cellini.

Old '70s Cellinis are great: they're generally under $3k, have generally been serviced religiously and are generally a lot more understated and elegant than any rolex you can buy. Cellini is the sub-brand where Rolex was allowed to be creative once they hit upon their "rip off '60s Heuer forever" formula.

That's nuts. I love the wood, but not such a fan of the shape. The same thing in a round case would be money.

Probably why they took the idea from Cellini and gave it to the Datejust. As with all things Rolex, Universal Geneve did it better.
