I love this. And it's kind of addictive.
- Let's face it. We are all stuck indoors.
And it's going to be a while till we travel again.
Window Swap is here to fill that deep void in our wanderlust hearts by allowing us to look through someone else's window, somewhere in the world, for a while.
A place on the internet where all we travel hungry fools share our 'window views' to help each other feel a little bit better till we can (responsibly) explore our beautiful planet again.
Let's travel without moving for now. Let's window swap.
This reminds me of a website where people would register a webcam and tag it with the timezone. The site would show you constant images of the sunrise - sometimes still images sometimes a live feed. There were many webcams that were set up outside people's houses or in some town somewhere. It always made me feel connected to people in different parts of the world. I just wish it was live rather than videos.
Ages ago I found a stream from one of the webcams at University of Washington overlooking Red Square. I set up a script to grab a snapshot each morning and set it as my background. Sadly the image quality never improved as newer technology has come out so I stopped using it. I should look for some other cams to use as my background.
That was fun! Has anyone here submitted a window? I think I may give it a whirl tomorrow. I spend a lot of time at a desk in front of a window with a nice little bird feeder. Lot's of cardinals and blue jays these days.
