I guess Mitch's thinking is that low turnout is the only way he's going to keep his seat, so therefore (1) make sure people are too scared to vote in person, and (2) destroy the post office??? That's the only way this move makes sense.

The dems want people desperately seeking a savior so they loaded the bill with stuff Republicans couldn’t accept. I could see this being in the Democrats best interest they want trump to fail. If peons have to be sacrificed for the greater good of orange man bad d sad I be it.

Honestly if we don’t have a government for the next 6 months things are gonna get pretty desperate, gonna be hard to dig out from that. It’s almost an exact repeat of what happened at the start of the depression.

If I were a Republican governor in a swing state I’d figure out how to evict only democrats as people without homes have trouble voting especially when there are purges.

Suspending mortgages but not suspending rent is probably as close as you can get to this.

I think we’re entering the scorched earth politics part of the year. At least through the election.

"We are miles apart in our values," Pelosi told reporters on Thursday. "Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gave a damn. That isn't the case. This is very far apart."

Scorched, salted, flooded...not sure it's possible to take that analogy too far at this point. I don't think we've seen a pure nihilist with this much power in Washington in a very long time. How his voters keep re-electing him is a mystery for the ages. Is the supreme court so important to people that they're willing to starve and become homeless?

What do you think might motivate a person to such actions?

Nah, definitely not religion.

Religion doesn't affect peoples behavior at all, clearly.

I wish I knew. Can it be as simple as personal enrichment or power?

I know the answer.
