I agree, but it still would be one of the larger nails in the coffin for Trump in any potential obstruction of justice prosecution against him. The likelihood of anyone daring to prosecute Trump isn't sky high :(. And I know, previous presidents have made some overtly political pardoning/commuting decisions, but typically just before their terms were up, after the election. Trump did this before the election, with under a week before Stone needed to report to prison, and at least one count Stone was convicted on was lying to protect Trump. Even some of Stone's recent public statements indicate that were he to serve time, he was prepared to incriminate Trump re: the extent of what Trump knew regarding coordinating wikileaks releases of Hilldawg's emails in the run-up to the 2016 election. God knows what October surprise they're cooking up this year.
