I haven't read this yet, but I will. Just want to chime in and say that I see probably 3-5 people per week who have freshly amputated limbs in the lobby of the hospital I work in. It's insane. I may or may not have more to say after reading, but it's just a strange thing that I never encountered before working in an inner city hospital (you think of amputations being like a Civil War thing), but now it's so commonplace I barely notice.
