I imagine it provides for you more than just a paycheck. One thing you and others mentioned, that didn’t make the podcast, was governments using this moment to expand their surveillance reach, etc. I think we should do another one of these in a month and see what has and has not changed.
Yes, it has been fun! I've been living a really privileged life the past few years honestly. Making bank in the summer by drinking and talking and then spending it on travel. I'm hopeful I'll eventually get back to it, but for sure I'll need to also find some other money-making activities. Let's hope we don't get too surveilled!
Unfortunately, expanded surveillance initiatives only flow in one direction historically. Bums me out that amidst a crisis like this there are a lot of cynics among the people that are supposed to be serving us that are using the crisis to further deteriorate our rights. Haven't seen anything as egregious as what happened after 9/11 yet though.
