I wonder if it's imported from its neighbours or leaking out? That and the sea of hate California lives in stood out most to me.
Definitely residual bad juju messing with our vibe. Deep South can’t hang with us 90 degree, alligator riding, orange poppin’, 90 y/o beach bums in the dead of December. They hate us ‘cuz they ain’t us... but that makes us the black sheep of America’s black sheep. ;(
North Carolina is both the best and worst state I have ever lived in.
I’m curious... care to elaborate? Also I have decided to change my mind - we should all move to Hawaii, they either don’t hate anyone or couldn’t be arsed to bother, either way, that seems like a pretty good spot to be in, we could all use a little less hate right now.
North Carolina has a little bit of everything-from beautiful beaches to the smokey mountains it can be a beautiful place. In between, however, it's all swamp and just rather miserable. The triangle (Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham) is full of wonderful people and places. I made all kinds of friends in the triangle, it's a great mixing pot of academics. Asheville is one hell of a hippy adventure town. Wander outside these places and it can get a little sketchy. I spent a lot of time out in the boonies for work, meaning I had to endure quite a few racist rants and later the classic Hillary tirades. If I had to take a guess NC's least favorite state is NC. The city folks dislike the rural folk and vice versa. Oh and my god the weather is also terrible, I've had enough humidity to last a lifetime. An important to note to make on all this-I lived in Fayetteville, which has been aptly called "Fayettenam". It took me a long time and many weekend trips to appreciate the positive side of NC.
