I live in Atlanta and have thought that may have been a good idea
My thoughts usually end with a less smart version of what kleinbl00 said. It's here fucked. I've lived in three southern states. Look up the shape of Fulton County, Georgia for example. It's not random. I live in like a little panhandle within walking distance of a county with public transit. That wasn't a mistake Atlanta is not without its charm though. You are correct
I like aspects of Atlanta in the same way I like aspects of Knoxville in the same way I like aspects of Charleston (disclaimer - all places I have visited but never lived in). There’s definitely charm and some interesting culture and really, really nice people. But Jesus the politics of those places is something awful, coming from the enclave that is WA state.
Ah the northwest. Land intended to exclude black people by constitutional fiat. I just mention it because everywhere sucks as far as racial politics goes and for no reason I'd like to point out that Atlanta had a weird working system of racial segregation and power sharing. I don't want to try to explain it but I recommend White Flight by Kevin M. Kruse. I've spent like a year reading American history and I think it's fried my brain
