Seattle drivers to Amazon/Microsoft/Google employees: "YOU MEAN YOU FUCKERS COULD HAVE BEEN WORKING FROM HOME THIS WHOLE TIME?!!"

If we're lucky? We're going to get through to the other side of this and recognize that really, "coming into work" is a sometimes food. I recognize that there's a real simpatico from being in the same place at the same time breathing the same air and drinking the same coffee but do you need that simpatico always?

Fuck, making conversation with certain coworkers feels like pulling teeth. By and large, lovely and kind people! I wouldn't mind spending less time around a few, though...

Today, for example, a coworker walked up to me while I was listening to music and started telling me about the nuances of dubstep (despite my never having expressed an interest in the genre), and that it's going to be seen the same way that classic rock is today in a few years. Then, he starts talking about how Trent Reznor doesn't make good music anymore because he went off drugs, and that if he wanted to put out more enlightened art he'd get back on H. THEN, he said that artists who don't suffer can't make good art.

Dude. I'm just trying to write some fucking CSS. I didn't ask for ANY of this, and my only encouragement was polite nodding and dismissive Mmhmm's and unenthusiastic Yeah's. HOW DID YOU TALK YOURSELF INTO THIS SITUATION WITHOUT MY HELP.

The wfh revolution is coming and I am so ready.
