A simple yes or no, please.
20% chance, it's all about votes in the Senate. Prediction is about probability not yes/no, optimist/pessimist bullshit. 20% is what I put it at and I worry it's a little bit on the high side. I'm trying to be a realist but I know fuck all about the ethical makeup of your average Republican Senator. I think he'll resign before he gets removed if it comes to it. I thought he would finish his first term for sure if he didn't have a heart attack and that he'd have a punchers chance at a 2nd. I think his chance at a 2nd term is looking shakier than ever.
Lawful evil. Trump is chaotic evil. Part of me is surprised they didn't replace him with Pence in his first year; honestly I think that would have been the best thing for the Republican Party to do. Might be too late for them now that Pence is also implicated.the ethical makeup of your average Republican Senator
To avoid releasing his tax returns? Perhaps but the cat may be out of the bag regarding his hidden finances. He might end up pulling a Jeffery Epstein.I think he'll resign before he gets removed if it comes to it.
Yes. He's going against a machine. He calls it the Deep State, but it's just the US government. It's pretty obvious the career diplomats aren't fans, and neither is the intelligence community. No one likes an idiot as a boss. Trump's problem is that he did it, and the evidence is going to continue to make GOP Senators uncomfortable. "Get Over It" doesn't resonate with independent voters. You can stay the House without independents, but you can't stay the Senate without them.
No, not as long as we’re expecting him to be removed. I expect he’ll quit long before he’d ever let anyone tell him he’s that wrong and must go. If the heat is turned up enough, I could see him step down declaring he’s had enough of the fake news, kangaroo court against him or similar garbage. His ego can’t take his ass getting tossed. Placating him like some toddler pitching a fit, his handlers will convince him that it would be in his best interest to spend more time at Mar-a-lago than DC.
youarenotthebossofme I think the calculus has shifted. The Democrats now benefit by dragging this out to overshadow the elections while the Republicans have to figure out how to exit without clouding their strategy. The Democrats need to make this about the Republicans being bad for the country, while the Republicans need to get Trump out as quickly as they can but they can't. There may be a future in which the Republicans are pushing for a quick impeachment but the Democrats are dragging their feet to "gather more evidence". Really, the decision is "do we get rid of him now so we don't lose more stuff like, oh, you know, KURDISTAN or do we grind this thing into the ground?" And I don't think there's anybody who can make that decision. I don't think anybody knows what happens next. I think we've gotten to the point where the goal isn't so much getting rid of Trump as figuring out how to paint the other guy with Trump.A simple yes or no, please.
something happened in a recent iPhone update that turned Apple News notifications back on. I got used to just swiping them away... until about a month or so ago - one day the screen lit up during a meeting, and I thought "I wonder if this is a notification that Trump will go" and my insides got all fluttery - like when you're about to go into a movie you're excited about... and ever since, when that notification pops, I get a little giddy thinking today will be the day. . alas... no such luck yet. But I've enjoyed the little moments of hope.
What changed your mind today? On the day Trump released the Zelensky phone call transcript, that was when I figured he'd resign or actually be convicted in the Senate after the House impeaches. I'm less sure about the Senate after seeing the pathetic GOP response. Almost a year ago, I made a $20 bet with wasoxygen that Trump will not be re-elected. I like my odds.
